Why I want to meet Pope Benedict XVI
To be in the presence of a holy man can have a profound affect. I saw Pope John Paul II at Yankee Stadium in NYC and that was amazing. I’d like to see, perhaps meet, Pope Benedict XVI.

A great wit. A rarity in any age. If you want to see a great wit functioning under great pressure see the movie The Trials of Oscar Wilde. It is largely taken verbatim from the transcripts of the actual trials where he was being charged with sodomy.
The wit of the man! What ever the prosecution said he’d turn around on them. He didn’t need to lie his way out, he simply confounded them by his mastery of the language; his quickness of thought. Brilliant!
It took several trials before they nailed him and only because his lover gave up a stack of love letters. After his release from prison he exiled himself to Paris and drank himself away with Absynthe. Pity he was persecuted for what today is so trivial a thing.
I’d like to run into Bill Shatner at a bar and have a few rounds. I’ve liked the glimpses I’ve caught of the man over the years. He strikes me as a fun guy who is rather interesting. The type of fellow with whom you can have a good time knocking a few back.
